For many years, I served on the Council of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists along with Harry Basman who was then serving as the Executive Director of the Association. During the breaks in Council meetings, Harry would occasionally talk about the things that he and Joyce had done or were planning. Over the course of the 5 or 6 years of Council, I learned a lot about Joyce and, most importantly how they cared for each other.
