IRENE CURRIE
(nee SWISKOSKI)
December 10, 1934 - December 11, 2020
Mom was raised on the family farm in the Mountain Road area and later moved to Winnipeg to begin a long career at Eaton's, where she made many friends. Ma loved sports baseball, hockey, curling, golf and never missed her boy's games as we grew up. She was A member of both Southwood Golf and Country Club and Elmhurst Golf and Country Club, where her and Dad had many wonderful friends and memories.
Mom also enjoyed her seniors clubs, playing cards, floor curling and lunch outings. Where there was Mom, there was also sister Flo, her lifelong supporter and partner in crime. A bond that was so special. Although Mom had a long battle with cancer it never slowed her down. She carried on living life to the fullest and continued to be her kind and caring unselfish self, as she was her whole life.
We would like to thank all the doctors, homecare workers and palliative care staff for there truly kind care of Mom. Special thanks to Father Sam Argenziano for all his support for Ma and our family. Also, to the great people at Mosaic Funeral Home for all their care and support.
I would be remised if I did not thank our "Joy", the daughter Mom never had, for her incredible love, care and kindness to Mom. Ma loves you so much.
Due to Covid-19, a private family service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Holy Rosary Church, Father Sam Argenziano Officiating.
Donations can be made in Mom's name to a charity of your choice.
The Lord Gave Us an Angel
and I got to call her "Ma"
