  • So sorry for your loss Evelyn. Almost a whole year has gone by and I just found out about Sonny's passing from friends in Erie, PA. Life after the loss of a soulmate is extremely difficult. • For Evelyn and all her family, Eddy, Elaine and Ted and all their families. Sincere condolences to all. Evelyn (Peanut) and I were neighbours and grew up together. We remained friends to this day. Al and Sonny, the four of us double dated, we even married same month, same year. So thankful for all the wonderful memories all our families got to share together. Sonny was good friend to everyone and will be missed by so many. May you all be comforted by all the warmest of wishes and expressions of love from all your friends.💞🙏 Beverley Bettens, Michael and Bridget, Randy and Daphne and Jamie and Cynthia and Kevin Bettens - Posted by: Beverley Bettens (Friend) on: Dec 22, 2020

  • I would like to pass on my profound and sincere condolences to Sonny's wife of 57 years, Evelyn and daughter Melanie, sons Darryl, Kevin, Kurt and their respective families. He loved to talk about the accomplishment of his family and was so very proud of each and everyone. Sonny was a storyteller and could fill a room with laughter. You would laugh so hard, you could fall off your chair and that happened at some of the guys weekends in mid August. When we got out on the golf course, I was entertained so much that I felt I should have paid admission. We got out on a round this summer where he had to wear a boot which wasn't going to stop him. The warmth of the day, smell of fresh cut grass, the slight breeze as we drove down the fairway, made it perfect. It didn't matter whether we hit the ball left or right, short or long, it was the fact we were able to get out to enjoy it. I remember him saying "it didn't get any better than this. Stan was my friend of 50 years and I will truly miss him. - Posted by: Doug Shave (Friend) on: Dec 22, 2020

  • It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our Brother Sonny, we shall miss him so. I, Elaine have such wonderful memories of us growing up together, he was always my big brother and protector, right up into our late teens. He was a great dancer and we danced a lot together. Eddy, Ted and I will forever remember all the good times we had together with Sonny. Love him forever. From the heart, Elaine(sister) Eddy(brother) Ted (brother in-law) - Posted by: Elaine and Ted Evans and Eddy Kopp (Sister, Brother and Brother in-Law) on: Dec 22, 2020

  • Evelyn, Darryl, Kevin, Melanie and Kurtis, Elaine, Eddy and families: Please accept our most sincere condolences on Sonny's passing. Unfortunately we didn't see much of each other over the years; but I so appreciated being able to visit with Sonny, Elaine, Eddy and all of Aunty Yvonne's grandchildren as well as the rest of the McDougalls at our family reunion so many years ago. Sonny was always a fun-loving and just all around great guy even to a little brat he and Elaine used to babysit when we were all a whole lot younger. His passing will be a huge loss to all who knew him. Sincerely, Janice (Sonny's cousin). - Posted by: Janice Hoffman (Campbell) (Cousin) on: Dec 19, 2020
