Me and Layne go way back, used to go fishing all the time before he left and did his own thing. He was a great fisherman and a great dude to smoke with, I remember the days we would hang out at the Pepsi tree with all of our homies. This guy Jordan Onley would show up here and there to give him the best life advice anyone can ask for. Layne Coleman is a really great Cod player, always hitting the dopest trick shots and hitting the most nasty clips anyone has seen. I love you Layne I hope you had a great life my friend. Layne I have been haunted by a feeling of loss for some time now, I failed at reaching out to find you and only now discover my eternal regret to not hear that beautiful full voice of yours. I am torn apart inside typing this. To your family who loved you and had the opportunity to know you, I would cherish any contact from you...I love this man I truly do, he was an incredible person and I have lost a part of myself. Please reach out and tell me about him and how his last years were like. I met Layne in Edmonton and came down to see him back in the early 2000's...I cry seeing your picture my brother; you gave me the greatest compliment anyone has ever given me..."Kevin, you are not white...I love you, my brother. - Posted by: Kevin Thompson (...a very sad old friend...) on: Dec 27, 2021

I was saddened to learn of Layne's passing! I had known Layne for almost 50 years and will always remember him as a friendly, easy going free spirit individual! Throughout the years we had many conversations and we always stopped and made time for each other! I will miss you, rest easy Layne! Condolences to your family and friends. As I sit here remembering the good times we all shared growing up, I am laughing and crying. So many good memory's. You were taken from us to early, but I can be content that you are now with other family members in heaven. You will always be loved and remembered.
