PETER RAYMOND HARRISON
December 24, 1955 – December 8, 2020

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Peter on December 8, 2020 at the St. Boniface Hospital, only two weeks shy of his 65th birthday.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Nicole, partner Matthew and his precious grandson Tommy. He is survived by his father Raymond; sister Lynn (John); brother Raymond; niece Larissa; nephew Blake; uncle Stan; aunt Marion and many cousins.
Peter was predeceased by his mother Joan; brother David and his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Watowich.
Born in Winnipeg, he grew up in East Kildonan where he attended St. Clements, Lord Wolseley Elementary, Munroe Junior High and Miles Macdonell Collegiate.
As a Structural Engineer, he worked for several years in the steel construction industry until a serious workplace injury left him permanently disabled.
Peter was well loved by all that knew him. He enjoyed working with his hands and was always willing to help others with their projects. At his church, he was affectionately known as "Mr. Peter" by the parishioners. Always looking his best wearing his trademark suspenders and tie, he was happiest when singing his heart out with the church choir or belting out crooner tunes at local karaoke bars.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service due to covid restrictions.
Good night sweet Peter, you are finally free from your earthly pain; your soul can now rest safely in the arms of angels in heaven.
Please consider a donation to Sscope Inc. or Main Street Project in Peter's name.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I can still remember the first time I met Peter. We had just moved in next door on Hazel Dell and he came around the corner of his house and we met in our driveway. We were 5 years old. Peter and I were best friends through school and shared many adventures as kids. Like riding our tricycles 2 miles to have a picnic at the “bush” at the corner of McLeod and Gateway when there was nothing else there. Imagine. How much fun did we have riding bikes and playing street hockey and football! Peter introduced me to Adidas sports shoes. I think about him often and was so saddened to hear of his untimely passing. I really just found out. But he’s with our old pal Gary Pawloski. Rest in peace my friend. And to the family, know that Peter made a real impression on people like me and his friendship and gentle manner made a difference. May God rest him and comfort the family with wonderful memories. Until we meet again… Jim - Posted by: Jim Ruta (Friend ) on: Mar 08, 2023

  • I met Peter about 3 years ago, I remember him as a loving and kind soul who looked out for his friends, spoke fondly of his daughter Nicole and loved speaking about his church family. I wish we had more time to get to know each other, but I'm comforted that he is at peace. Please accept my sincere condolence to all his family and friends. - Posted by: Barbara G (Social Services ) on: Dec 30, 2020

  • So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I first met Peter in 1991when he graduated and were both employed at KGS Group working on a road design project as fellow engineers. We became good friends and kept in touch for many years. I still fondly remember one fine summer day when I had the pleasure of entertaining the Harrison Clan including your late uncle David and your aunt Lynn at our family cottage at Grand Beach. I will always remember him for his gentle soul and for that I know he is Resting in the Arms of Angels. Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences. - Posted by: Darrell Grahame (Friend) on: Dec 20, 2020

  • I remember Peter from St. Clements so many years ago. He was always a happy, cheerful kid. It's a shame we went our separate ways so early. - Posted by: phil mowatt (former classmate) on: Dec 19, 2020
