BARRY HAMILTON LOCKE
Barry was born in Winnipeg on March 30, 1930. He had three brothers and two sisters, and grew up in Sturgeon Creek. In 1951, he married the love of his life, Margaret "Buds" Anderson. Together they raised six children.
For 36 years, Barry worked as a bread salesman for Weston Bakeries Ltd. For many years he delivered bread to every small town in Southeastern Manitoba. Right up until his passing, he loved to share fond memories of delivering bread to the original Penners grocery store in Steinbach.
Barry and Margaret enjoyed camping and travelling, and spent many summers at Winnipeg Beach. After retiring, they moved to Pinawa, MB and then to Lac du Bonnet, where they made many good friends along the way. After Margaret's passing in 2016, Barry moved to Niverville to be closer to family. Although living without his bride was challenging, Barry enjoyed his time at Niverville Credit Union Manor, and the friends he made at the Adult Day Program.
Barry will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by his sister Colleen Rintoul (Lorne) of Niverville, and his brother Clifford of Calgary, as well as his sons, Rick, Greg (Brenda), Jim (Maureen), Gary, and David (Jody), and his daughter Debby Ruppell (Bob). He will be greatly missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Thank you to Dr. Mairi Burnett and Dr. Chris Burnett, and the many health care aides and staff at the Niverville Credit Union Manor, who made Barry's life easier and more enjoyable.
