ERIC ALEXANDER MCAUGHEY
November 28, 1985 - December 16, 2020
Eric was born in Winnipeg, grew up in St. Vital and graduated from Dakota Collegiate. During those years he had many interests. His time at the cottage developed into a passion for fishing and water skiing. He was active in many sports and was a member of two Canadian junior ultimate frisbee teams that competed at the world championships. One of those teams won a gold metal in Riga, Latvia.
Eric was independent and adventurous. He worked for a season at Sunshine Village honing his snowboarding skills. He attended university in British Columbia and subsequently traveled and worked across Western Canada.
Eric was a beautiful person with a gentle disposition and had a love for all animals. His warm smile was a treasure.

No formal funeral service will take place.

We have fond memories of Eric as a young boy, as a hockey and ultimate teammate, class mate and friend to Andrew. He was a sweet and gentle boy with a love of sports and music. I am so sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I have fond memories of him as a student, a person and an athlete. I enjoyed his sense of humour and the sly smile he had when I told a sick joke. I enjoyed coaching him and enjoyed watching him play, using the strong skill set he had. My thoughts are with you all!
