GREGORY BARRY LOCKE
With heavy hearts we mourn the passing of our beloved husband, father and Papa, Gregory Barry Locke on December 20, 2020. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Brenda, children, Jennifer (Jeff), Steven and his two adorable grandchildren, Emily and Ethan.
Greg was born and raised in Winnipeg. He met Brenda in 1972 and they were married in 1976. Greg worked for MPI for 32 years, until his retirement in 2010 on his 55th birthday. His passions in life included being with family and volunteering when needed. Camping and going on trips with the kids continued until the kids decided they were too old to be around Mom and Pa. Then it was just the two of them that travelled. They didn't quite get around the world, but they came pretty close.
Even though he retired from work, he did not retire from volunteering and giving back. He gave of his time to multiple organizations for over 40 years, sometimes volunteering six days a week. There was nothing he wouldn't do for anyone.
Cremation has taken place as per Greg's wishes. If friends so desire, donations in Greg's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Riverview Health Center or to a charity of one's choice.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

My deepest condolences to Greg's family. It was with much sadness to read of his passing. Greg was a real pro at what he did, and was a loyal MPI employee. While I never worked directly with Greg, his reputation was well known at MPI. "A good guy!" RIP Greg. - Posted by: Brian Smiley (MPI colleague) on: Dec 29, 2020

So many fond memories working with Greg at MPI and MPI social club. He had a kind heart, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Years later I had the opportunity to work with his daughter Jen. Watched Stephen & Jen grow up over the years. Brenda you were his soulmate the both of you blended so well together worked as a team knew what each other thought. His face would beam when talked about of his family. My prayers and thoughts go out to your family. Many hugs. - Posted by: Colleen Okrainec (Friend, co-worker ) on: Dec 26, 2020

We have lost a dear friend. Greg was always the strong and confident one. He was always ready to lending a helping hand and support. When he called earlier this year with his prognosis, he wanted to talk about the good times and his grandchildren. I will always cherish our time together particularly our fishing trip to Crowduck Lake. Deepest sympathy to Brenda, Stephen, Jennifer and the grandchildren. RIP Greg. - Posted by: LEWIS EGAN (Friend) on: Dec 26, 2020
