MARIA BOOYAR
November 2, 1930 - December 25, 2020

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Booyar (nee Koval) on December 25, 2020, at the age of 90.
Maria is survived by her loving husband Bohdan, her two daughters, Natalia and Olya, her sons-in-law, Alex Rybak and Roman Rybak, her four grandchildren, Maxim, Nina, Serhiy, Oleh, and great-grandchildren, Moe, Juno and Sienna. Also mourning Maria's passing are her sister Stefania, with nieces, and nephews in Ukraine, and her many friends in Winnipeg and in Australia.
Maria was born November 2, 1930 in the village of Zahirya, Lvivska Oblast, Ukraine. She married her husband Bohdan in 1960 and the family immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1976. Maria was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Maria was a parishioner and regular member of the congregation at the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha.
Thank you to the entire St. Francis' ward staff at Holy Family Home for all their love, patience and compassionate care.
Lastly, we thank our Lord for the wonderful gift of our Mama, Baba and Prababa. We are grateful for her beautiful and precious life.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the Panachyda and Divine Liturgy will be sung privately at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30 at the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral of Sts. Volodymr and Olha with interment followed at All Saints Cemetery.
