DOROTHY (SMART) RENKEWITZ
September 19, 1932 December 25, 2020
She was the beloved wife of the late John Renkewitz. She was also predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Agnes Renbeurt, numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States to remember the last of her generation.
Outside of a brief time in England, Dorothy lived her life in Winnipeg, worked for the Canadian Wheat Board and enjoyed 44 years of marriage to John.
Dorothy was an avid curler and has continued to be active with friends, in bowling, yoga and line dancing. At home she enjoyed knitting and the company of Sammy and Buddy and until May, her parrot Mork. She was also a long time member of the Holy Redeemer Parish.
Dorothy was her own person and proud of it. She was determined to live her life the way she wanted and to the fullest, right to the end. Those who knew Dorothy will remember her dry wit.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private service and internment will be held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
Words of condolence for the family can be left on the Klassen Funeral Chapel website.
If one wishes, donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the charity of choice.

My condolences to Dorothy's family. I had known her for many years through Line Dancing, Red Hat and get togethers for lunches. She will be sadly missed in the group. - Posted by: Cecile Roziere (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2021

To Dorothy's family. I've know Dorothy only 3 years. She was my bowling buddy. We had become good friends as I would pick her up for bowling as we lived close. I will treasure our brief but wonderful friendship and will miss our bowling days should it resume. I am so sorry for your loss. A dear lady she was.
