MARY SENKIW
October 11, 1933 – December 16, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Roberta Senkiw (née Stewart), aged 87, on December 16, 2020. She passed away at home with family by her side and is now with Jesus.
In 1950, Mary moved to Midland, Ontario. She began a job at Waggs Laundry and Dry Cleaners where she met Emil Senkiw whom she married on April 14, 1952, at the age of 18. In 1955, Mary and Emil moved to Steinbach and eventually owned and operated Steinbach Dry Cleaners and Imperial Cleaners.
To complete their family, they adopted two daughters; Angela and Kimberley. Mary's love was unmatched, and while Kimberley and Angela were growing up, some of their friends even jokingly asked if Mary and Emil could adopt them too! Many great memories were made at Mary and Emil's rural property near Sarto, Manitoba, where they lived for 29 years. Mary was especially fond of her grandchildren, and she made sure that they knew it. Grandma and Grandpa's house was their favourite place to be.
Mary radiated joy wherever she went. She could light up a room in an instant, and had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and at home. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
Left to treasure Mary's memory is her husband Emil, daughters, Angela (Dave) and Kimberley, grandchildren, Scott (Laura), Breanne (JS), Shealey (Taylen), and Shane, siblings, Don, Helen and Sharon.
A Celebration of Life was held at Thornhill Community Church on December 20, 2020. Interment will follow at a later date in Steinbach, Manitoba.
