Mrs. Maretzki was so much a part of my life. I remember their house always smelled great- like bread of some nameless treat. I remember showers for my wedding or other event with smiles and delicious food. I remember feather comforters and laughter. She was a remarkable woman in so many ways, not the least of which was a kind and loving mother, much like my own. Susanne was and still is, a treasured friend.
