BARB STEELE
March 30, 1943 - December 30, 2020

Barbara Jean Elizabeth Mott Steele, aged 77, died peacefully in her sleep December 30, 2020, at the Abbotsford Memorial Hospital.
She is lovingly survived by her large adoring family: her husband Jim Thompson and sister Janet Parker; her three sons, Cameron Steele, Joe Steele and Michael Steele; four stepchildren, Jeannine Huppee, Jim Thompson, John Thompson and Rena Andronek; five grandchildren, Tia Steele, Joey Steele, Jadon Steele, Emma Steele and Phoenix Steele; seven step-grandchildren, Ann-Marie, Daniel and many more, plus one step-great-grandchild.
Barb was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and relocated to British Columbia in 1982 where she met her husband. There she joyfully lived her life as a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed.
Those close to her won't be able to look at a crossword puzzle without thinking of her as she loved her morning brainteasers with her coffee and RED pen. She was an avid reader, loved crafting special decorative home and garden pieces, painting, and doting on her grandkids and fur baby Casey.
Everyone who met Barb echoed the same sentiments, that she was the warmest and most welcoming person they've met. There is another angel in Heaven looking down on us continuing to shine her warmth and love.
Due to Covid restrictions, there will not be a memorial service. She wouldn't want anything sad anyway. We will be having a Celebration of Life later in the year to honour her and the legacy of love, kindness and generosity she so freely gave.
In lieu of sending flowers, you can send a donation to The Vasculitis Foundation of Canada.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Many many years ago I worked alongside Barb when she was a secretary for the Fed. Dept Director (name escapes me!) but I do remember her dedication, efficiency, helpfulness and fun to be around. I am happy she found the love of her life, she deserved it! - Posted by: cheryl newman (co-worker) on: Jan 09, 2021
