REV. MORLEY EVAN SCHULTZ
December 12, 1931 - December 31, 2020
Morley was born near Bruderheim, AB on December 12, 1931 to Gustave and Minnie Schultz. He was the third of five children who grew up on the farm, attended the country school and later school in 'town'. After working at various jobs in Edmonton, Morley enrolled in the Christian Training Institute where he met the love of his life, Joyce Miller. They were married in 1953 and moved to Winnipeg where Morley would continue his training for pastoral ministry at Winnipeg Bible College. After faithfully serving congregations in Saskatchewan, Ontario, Alberta and Manitoba, Morley and Joyce retired to Calgary in 1994. They established lifelong friendships wherever they lived. Morley loved God. He modelled love, patience, and self-sacrifice. He was an avid reader, loved music, and kept up with current events. More than anything, he loved to sit and talk with his kids and grandkids.
Morley leaves behind his children, Marshall (Janice), Wendy (Rick) Ohlhauser, Ken (Elaine) and Murray (Paula), as well as nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also mourning his passing are his brother Allan (Mona); his sister Grace MacAlister; and many nieces and nephews. Morley was predeceased by his dear wife Joyce in 2019, as well as his brothers, Donald and Wesley.
'Away from the body, and at home with the Lord' 2 Corinthians 5:8
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Calgary South Health Campus Unit 68 staff and to Dr. Brian Pedersen for the compassionate care shown to Dad and to us during this trying time.

I met Rev Schultz and his wife Joyce as did my parents, Bill and Ann Henschel, through my Dad's sister Hannah(Henschel) Pommer and her husband Ben, parishoners from Seven Sisters Baptist Church in Seven Sisters Manitoba in the 1990s.Friendship evolved, even though my parents lived in Winnipeg, especially when Dad was diagnosed with cancer. I believe some pastors are especially gifted; I recall Rev Schultz saying to Dad in hospital " Bill when I get to heaven , we'll go fishing ." Rev Schultz officiated at Dad's funeral in June 1993 and at Mom's in June 1994, offering comfort to all of us. I do hope my words make it evident to their loved ones, that Rev Morley Schultz and Joyce touched the lives of many, when they served in Manitoba. This memory is written by the oldest daughter of Bill and Ann Henschel, but also conveys sympathy from my siblings as well as my cousins who had known Rev Schultz and Joyce . Thoughts and prayers are with all of you whom were mentioned lovingly in conversations in Manitoba in the 1990s - Posted by: Karen (Henschel) Hintz (Manitoba friends) on: Jan 19, 2021
