SUSAN JEANNE KEMP
(nee O'BRIEN)
April 1, 1952 December 31, 2020
After meeting the difficult challenge of late stage cancer and with the aid of the medical assistance in dying program, Susan chose this time for her passing. Ancient Celtic lore tells us that after Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year, comes the Birch Moon, a time of quiet reflection as daylight increases and we move toward a time of rebirth.
Predeceased by their only son, Morgan Kemp, Susan leaves to mourn her devoted, loving and supportive husband of 47 years, Allan Kemp; her daughter Lauren Kemp (Henrique Reginato) of Vancouver; brother-in-law Rob Kemp (Lisa) of Bolton, Ontario; mother Jeanne Dufresne; elder siblings, Linda O'Brien and Frank O'Brien of Winnipeg; as well as Patricia O'Brien of Rock Creek, BC and their families.
No funeral will be held. Cremation has taken place.
Susan and Morgan's ashes will be spread together along the banks of the Assiniboine River at an historic site in Charleswood near their family home.
Forever Young
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
- Bob Dylan

SUSAN JEANNE KEMP HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!! My heart is broken!! Knowing I'll never see you or hear your voice again is devastating. The only comfort is knowing you're free from pain and worry now. I truly believe that Morgan was there to greet you and you're both watching over Allan, Lauren and the rest of us. Goodbye my beautiful, brave, caring, generous, funny baby sister!! You are, and will always be in my heart. Till we meet again. Linda - Posted by: Linda O'Brien (Sister) on: Feb 05, 2021
