Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Hi Allyson and Janice. I was devastated to learn of Richard's sudden passing. He had just reached out to me in early November after reading some old letters, so we had many phone and e-mail conversations to catch up. I knew he had had an episode when attempting to have his eyelids fixed so I'm thinking he must have had a heart attack. My condolences to you and your families. Allyson: When we bumped into each other last year at the McPhillips Street Superstore I'm ashamed to say I didn't remember who you were ... until I was on my way home when it hit me. I'm sorry we didn't have more of a chance to catch up. I always think of Munga and Jimmy when I pass their old apartment on Main and Leila. - Posted by: Wendy Murphy (Old Friend) on: Jan 10, 2021

  • I left a tribute earlier about Rick & I and our in/out life together. But thinking about our life's I am deeply saddened about his passing. I felt he & I would live on for along time. We shared so many things together about our life's, good or bad. We shared so many good times and so many laughs. Rick was a very intense man at times and somewhat concerned me to a degree. I feel Rick always had friends but never a real true friend He loved to reminisce about everyone in his past life as if these were his good times. Today, I have not stopped thinking about him and wish I had kept closer contact with him. Love you man! - Posted by: Bob Law (Good Friend) on: Jan 09, 2021

  • Only 2 months ago, I was searching for Rick as we had not been in contact for a few years. Rick & I became good friends after we first met at Phillips Electronics. That began a friendship that was on & off over the years as both of us went our own ways. But then I was working in Brandon,MB. and Rick was in Neepawa now, owner of a furniture store. Fun & good times between us followed after that. We lost contact when he moved to Vancouver, but our friendship was rekindled over the phone and internet. The last time we talked he had moved into his house in White Rock. What a life Rick lived, with his business intellect, yet his comical ways. Quite a guy. I always enjoyed his company. Rest in Peace my man. - Posted by: Robert Law (Good friend) on: Jan 09, 2021
