ELIDUINA (LIDA) CONCI
April 26, 1926 - January 5, 2021
She was predeceased by her husband Aldo Conci; her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and grandchildren, Lida Rodrigues and Leigha Conci.
She is survived by her four sons, Gustavo (Candace), John (Louise), Joe (Josie), and Frank (Pina); grandchildren, Sarah, Tanya (Eduardo), Daniela, Adam (Chan), Aldo, David, Lorisa (Justin), and Mikayla; grandson-in-law Mike; and six great-grandchildren.
She was born and grew up in Grimaldi, Italy and emigrated to Canada in 1949 to marry the love of her life, Aldo. Her hometown of Grimaldi always had a special place in her heart. We all grew up hearing her stories of the town, the house, the convent, the church, the bell (dong, dong) and the people.
Her cooking was incomparable and her pizza, pasta, gnocchi, pitulede, fried chicken, french fries and rice balls are sorely missed.
Her garden gave her much pleasure, and she spent many hours tending it. Neighbours and passersby often commented on her beautiful flowers.
Sadly, several years ago dementia changed her life. We are very grateful to all the staff and volunteers at Deer Lodge Centre, 3rd floor Dementia Care Program for the kindness, care and love they showed "Mama".
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Given COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will be held at Holy Rosary Church on January 14, 2021, commencing 11:00 a.m. CT. You are invited to watch the livestreaming of the funeral on: https://youtu.be/zF1rYlyCUtU

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)
We were so sad to hear of Mrs. Conci's passing. We lived across the street from her for 15 years. Whenever my son (4 at the time) would see her he would get excited and say "Mom, Mrs. Conci is outside"...... (she always gave him ice cream) and wanted to run outside. She was a wonderful lady with so much wisdom to share especially when it came to gardening. She helped me transplant some of her hosta plants in my front garden that I transported to my new home, I will always look at them and be reminded of her❤️Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Our sincere condolences to your family on your loss. My parents lived with Lida and Aldo when they were first married. My two older sisters had the privilege of being a part of their loving home. Stories are told to this day of that very special time. All our love the Lamothe Family - Posted by: Pam (Lamothe) Yorke (Friend) on: Jan 15, 2021

Dear Gus, John, Joe, Frank and families, I am so sorry for your loss. Commare Lida meant so much to so many people. She always spoke so highly of her family and how proud she was of all of you. I spent many visits in the basement kitchen watching her make her "Famous Rice Balls". I never did quite make them the same way she did. Commare Lida had the "Magic Touch" I guess. Our deepest condolences. Dina and Harvey Bector (Colistro) - Posted by: Dina Bector (Friend of the family) on: Jan 12, 2021
