1929 - 2020

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father and Opa, Hans Peter Erichsen. Early in the morning of Tuesday, December 30, he quietly let go of this life and went home again, as was his wish for some time now. His memory will be cherished by his friends and family. This kind and gentle patriarch was predeceased by our mother and Oma 12 years ago. Thus the start of a legacy ends with his passing, but the legacy lives on in all of us.
Left to celebrate the memories of these two emigrants from Germany are his two sons, Wilfort (Joan) and Ralph; eight grandchildren, Brian (Colleen), Scott (Patti), Cheri (Nick), Kris (Kori), Ryan (Angela), Samantha (Gerrit), Cassandra (Roberto), and Bryce; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brian, William, Thuri, Jaxon, Dane, Caleb, Gabby, Kyra, Mia, Callie, and Diego.
Alone in a new country, Oma and Opa developed a network of friends that cemented their attachment to their new adopted country. We were witness to their love and commitment to each other and kindness to all, and they gave us an example to follow. The sorrow we feel is immense but there is a feeling of love and pride in the legacy that continues. We will pick up the torch and carry on that legacy. Their memories will live on in us and we are all proud to say "I am an Erichsen".
We wish to thank the staff at Riverview for their kindness in his last days.
We celebrate his life and legacy.

We love you Dad, Opa and
we will always remember you.
