ANDREA GAYLE BAIRD
Andrea leaves behind her loving father, Robert (Bob) Baird, and her stepmother, Julie. Missing her greatly is Kirk Calder (Nicole Macintosh), her son, whom she loved with all her heart; he was the shining light in her life. Remembering her also are biological father Frank Ostrowski and brother John Waudby, numerous relatives and many friends, including special friend Rayne Greyeyes.
Born May 16, 1974, Andrea was adopted by her parents, Bob and Pat (deceased), when she was eleven days old. She attended school in the Selkirk area and lived there all her life. Andi (as friends called her) loved living in the country and the outdoors. She enjoyed writing poetry, fishing, camping and spending special summer vacations at Luther Village camp with Kirk.
Andi was feisty and outspoken. She had a special affinity for the underdog and would do anything for anyone in need. Her strong determination lead her to overcome many struggles and challenges, one day at a time. Andi found strength in the love she had for her son and recently also enjoyed friendship and support from her church community. Her many health challenges, however, proved insurmountable.
Cremation has taken place and interment will take place at a later date.
Donations in Andrea's memory may be made to Luther Village, 560 Arlington Street, Winnipeg, R3G 1Z5 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Condolences may be left on Andrea's memorial page at www.interlakecremation.ca
God wanted her home. Rest in Peace.

Andi was an amazing person. I first met her in Shoppers at my old job, she found out I knew Kirk and Nicole and we became friends on her visits to the store. She was an amazing person who offered me advice during one of the most difficult times of my life and was a true friend and one of the nicest people I have ever had the privilege to meet and I'll carry the advice she gave me forever. I offer my condolences to the family for the loss - Posted by: Tyson (Friend) on: Jan 10, 2021
Wow still can't believe you're gone. When I think of you I can hear your laugh which is something I made you do from time to time. Condolences to her son Little Kirk as she would call you. Love and hugs to the family. Until we meet again my friend. - Posted by: Catherine McEvoy (Friend) on: Jan 09, 2021
Our sincere sympathy...may she Rest In Peace , Marianne & Fred - Posted by: Marianne & Fred Ostermann (Friend of the family) on: Jan 09, 2021
So sorry to read of Andi's passing. I knew her from when we both lived in Selkirk, and I was her roommate at one point. She sure spoke her mind, which is a trait I admire in people. Condolences to her family and friends. RIP Andrea See you later. - Posted by: Marie Fontaine (friend) on: Jan 09, 2021
Andi had the talent of compassion and understanding like nobody else I've ever known. It didn't matter her situation she was always there for the people she cared about no matter the circumstance. Guess God needed someone solid up there because he certainly took one of the best. We have been friends for 20 years and the memories I will always hold close. She was always a kind and loving friend and when I needed a kick in the ass she did that too. Her son kirk was the love of her life and her light she always cherished the time spent and memories made. Rest easy Andi. You will be very missed. - Posted by: Keri kooting (Friend ) on: Jan 09, 2021
