YOLANDE BILODEAU
(née GRATTON)

In peace and comfort, Yolande passed away on January 8, 2021, at Actionmarguerite St. Vital (formerly Foyer Valade) in the presence of her children. Born on February 15, 1924 in Ste-Agathe (Manitoba), she had reached the venerable age of 96.
Throughout her life, she was dedicated to her family, her grandchildren, her loved ones and her faith. As was the case for many women of her times, she gave herself completely to the well-being of her family and those around her. Always discreet and reserved, she had a passion for cooking and preserves, as well as for all manner of cleaning. She thoroughly enjoyed adding new recipes to her imposing collection. Her attention to detail and organizational skills were legendary. In recent years, she enjoyed a well-deserved daily routine of tranquility, reading, leisure activities at the care home, as well as some TV shows - even watching the Winnipeg Jets in action! She also enjoyed keeping abreast of current affairs and would regularly offer us her observations on the numerous societal changes which she was able to witness during her long life.
She now joins her beloved late husband Albert Bilodeau, who predeceased her on January 6, 2005. She leaves to mourn her four children: Roger (Charlene), Guy, Léo (Julie) and Rosanne (Bernard) Marcoux; 11 grandchildren, Alexandre (Mariame) and Julien (Jessica) Bilodeau, Christophe Lepage Bilodeau; Jean-Guy and Stéphane (Chantel) Bilodeau; Emma, Annabel, Amelya and Thomas Bilodeau; Rhéanne (Darren) and Philippe (Dée-Ana) Marcoux; two great-grandchildren, namely Keaton (son of Stéphane and Chantel - who are expecting a second child in April 2021) and Khadijatou, daughter of Alexandre and Mariame; one sister-in-law, Georgette Gervais (née Bilodeau); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their respective families, in addition to many friends - in particular Heike and Olive, for their special attention to Yolande.
Yolande had the distinction of being the youngest and only surviving sibling of Arthur and Rose-Anna Gratton (née Toupin). She was predeceased by her parents, her four sisters and three brothers, as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Bilodeau and Gratton families.
Pursuant to her wishes and in the context of the current pandemic, a private family service will be held when her remains will be interred beside those of Albert in the parish cemetery.
The family offers heartfelt thanks to the staff and management of Actionmarguerite St. Vital, in particular Yoveena and the staff on the 1st floor, for their excellent care and attention.
