GEORGE R. VERMETTE
January 16, 1938 - January 10, 2021
Dad was predeceased by his wife Lorie; daughter Rae; grandchildren, Lori and William; parents, Ernest and Alma, and brothers, Rodrique and Ernest.
Left to mourn are his children, Kim (Terry), Dawn (Wenzel), Rhonda (Dale), Rod (Chrisie) and Harvey. Also left behind are his brother Pierre (Joanne) and sister Esther. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, many other family members and friends.
Dad loved to tinker or "putzky" around, which led him to the most unique way of repurposing an item. You always knew when it was a George fix. He always said he was going to the happy hunting grounds when he passed, where he could continue to fish, camp and feed all the animals.
We thank Riverside Lions for everything they have done to get Dad back to feeling at home in St. Vital. Also a special thanks to Maria from home care.
Cremation has taken place. Dad, along with Mom, will be buried at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Humane Society...or feed the birds.
We will miss you Dad with all our hearts and will cherish our memories of you forever.

Pierre and Joanne I’m so very sorry to hear of George’s passing. He was such a nice and gentle person. He enjoyed accompanying Pierre to help with his projects, just for the “adventure”. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. Bev - Posted by: Bev Stewart (Friend) on: Jan 16, 2021
