  • My sincere and deepest condolences to Verna's son and family on her passing. I worked with Verna for over 10 years and she was a real firecracker! Verna was a ton of fun, extremely kind and caring and she was always willing to help out anyone in need of support. Everyone who worked with Verna adored her. Verna will be very missed by her Manulife family. May your loving memories of Verna get you through these darker days. • Verna was one of the nicest person Barb and I know. Last saw her in the summer at Silver Harbour and despite being sick did not complain. She and David had a great 20 yrs together travelling the world and enjoying the cabin at Silver Harbour. A lover of animals especially their two dogs. Will greatly miss Verna and David. On behalf of all members of the family we grieve the loss. - Posted by: Blake Dunn (Friend) on: Jan 18, 2021

  • My deepest condolences to Sam and Verna's family. I am deeply saddened by Verna's passing. We shared a history meeting first in the mid 1980's and picked up later whan we bought a neighboring cottage in 2007. I looked forward to our annual cottage walks that went around the block and then one, two or three more times until we were caught up. Verna and Dave contributed so much to Silver Harbour and they will be missed. Verna's laugh was contagious and the sounds of family from her cabin were alsways joyful, especially September long weekends with visitors spilling out into tents in the yard. - Posted by: Michelle Paterson (Lake Freind, colleague) on: Jan 18, 2021
