MICHAEL (BRUNO) SLEDZINSKI
1927 - 2021
Bruno was born September 1927 in Poland, then moved to Canada in 1932 and grew up in Boissevain (by the slough). Moved to Winnipeg after his high school graduation where he met and married the love of his life Lorraine (nee Delorme) in 1953. Bruno joined the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1953 and retired as Captain in 1986.
Together they raised five children, Paul (Brenda), Joan (Dennis), Michelle (Wilson), Valerie (Doug) and Dave (Denise). They also have 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and enjoyed taking their young family from coast to coast on camping trips and travelling after retirement.
Bruno enjoyed fishing, especially at George Lake, gardening and woodworking, building many items for the family to enjoy for years to come. Bruno's unique personality will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Firefighter's Burn Fund.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

I knew Bruno as a long time friend of my parents. I remember his ever present humour as his way to connect with people and make people laugh. He will surely be missed by his family and close friends but his legacy of wit and warmth will remain with us forever. - Posted by: Sandra Woehrle (Friend) on: Jan 27, 2021

A wonderful friend for many many years. Enjoyed many parties with LORRAINE and BRUNO over the years. Blueberry Picking, Lawn Dart Tournaments, Christmas and New Years Eve parties. Bruno would always lend a helping hand wherever needed. The WORLD will sadly miss Bruno. - Posted by: Jean Sodomlak (Good old friend) on: Jan 23, 2021
