She was predeceased by her parents, Stan and Mabel Wylde; daughter Kim Simard; in-laws, Wilfred and Annie Blight, and sister-in-law Evelyn Krauchek.
Jacquie was born on June 9, 1938 in Winnipeg, MB, firstborn child of Stan and Mabel. She was raised on the family farm in the Mill Creek District and attended the one-room schoolhouse there and then boarded in Oakville, MB to attend high school. She took a Business Machines Course at the Manitoba Technical Institute in Winnipeg, MB. After graduation, she worked at Oldfield Kirby and Gardner Insurance and then at Hudson's Bay House before marrying James Wilfred Blight on July 25, 1959. After several years of living and working in Winnipeg, they moved home to the Blight farm near Oakville, MB with their eldest child, Kevin. All five children were raised there, and Jacquie loved farm life and the small-town community of Oakville.
Jacquie loved to cook, bake, shop, sew, quilt, crochet, knit, scrapbook, read, drive, travel, and spend time with family and friends. Jacquie hosted multiple family reunions including the 125th anniversary of the Blight farm in 2015. Jacquie was a host of Manitoba Farm Vacations Association for many years and hosted IAEA agriculture trainees from all over the world. Jacquie travelled extensively across Manitoba to horse shows and rodeos with children, Kim, Kendall and Kam. She finished her work career at Ducks Unlimited, Oak Hammock Marsh. Jacquie loved her family and her grandchildren who affectionately called her Grams. She never missed an opportunity to watch her grandkids at any activity they partook in, she thought they were marvellous.
Jacquie was blessed to enjoy several uniquely close relationships including one with her cousin Joan Brinkhurst, her sister Gini, her Aunts, Carolyn and Connie, and her sister-in-law Irene.
