DONALD JOHN EASOM
December 12, 1932 - January 16, 2021

In Loving Memory

Don was born December 12, 1932 to John "Jack" (1888 - 1969) and Ellen "Nellie" Isabelle (Cameron) Easom (1890 - 1959) on the family farm near Ogema, SK where his father had homesteaded in 1910. Don's siblings were Fern (1918 - 1978), Kenneth (1920 - 1939), and Elsie (1925 - 2008). Don attended Edgeworth School, SK for grades 1 through 8, studied by correspondence for grades 9 and 10, and attended Caronport High School, SK for grades 11 and 12. He attended Briercrest Bible Institute in Caronport, graduating in 1960, and earned his BComm and Chartered Accountant designation at the College of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK, graduating in 1967. He worked with SaskPower in Regina, SK as systems analyst from 1967 to 1987, and continued working as an accountant for small businesses and non-profits after retirement.
In 1967 Don and Alvina (Kroeker) were married in Winnipeg, MB, and set up house in Regina. Daughters, Joy-Ann and Janine were born in 1971 and 1973. Don and Alvina retired and moved to Winnipeg in 1998 to care for her mother and aunt for 15 years. In 2013, they relocated to Saskatoon, where both daughters lived, so they would be close to family in their later years. Over the years, Don was active in his church community, serving in many roles and ministries, including bible camp book keeper, church treasurer, deacon, teacher, usher, and more.
Don leaves behind wife Alvina, and daughters Joy-Ann (husband Kyle Allin, children, Megan and Blake) and Janine (children, Luke and Mark Johnson), all of Saskatoon.
A memorial service for Don will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church (107 McWillie Ave., Saskatoon) with viewing at 9:30 a.m. and memorial service at 10:00 a.m. for an invited group of family and friends. • It was our pleasure to become friends with Don & Alvina when we belonged to the Seniors' Group in our Church. They were gracious hosts & had many people (including ourselves) into their home for delicious meals & a warm visit. They are greatly missed by ourselves & many others. We have many happy memories of them. We wish them well & pray for God's rich blessings upon them. - Posted by: George & Maureen Bell (Friends) on: Jan 20, 2021
