With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Andrew "Bud" Saunders Sellen at the age of 93, with Olive, his wife of 71 years, and family at his side.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Sellen; and siblings, Albert, Esther, Evelyn, Raymond, Douglas, Frances, Richard and Robert and survived by Helen, John and George. He was the proud father of sons, Alan (Jackie), Ronald (Alison); and daughter Cindy (William); grandfather of Dillon (Cody), Carly (Joe) and Alexandra (Brett), and delighted great-grandad of Connolly, who said, "now Grandad has magic and isn't so old anymore."
After school in Oak Bank and St. John's Tech, Bud worked for Sellen Brothers Construction then joined the Air Force in 1948. On his return to Oak Bank in 1950 he married Olive and worked for Eaton's servicing radios and televisions, eventually managing that department until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed his cottage at West Hawk Lake, hunting near Mafeking, and playing and coaching hockey and baseball. He was a long time volunteer and president of both the Oak Bank Community Club and Oak Bank Credit Union.
The family is grateful for the home care aides as well as the staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for their wonderful care.
A family service will be held at Green Acres when the world is back to "normal".
