NORMAN JOSEPH MEILLEUR
October 25, 1953 - January 15, 2021

Our beloved brother and friend passed on after a battle with cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 67.
Norman will be sadly missed by his ex-wife and loving friend Gisele Dubois, their daughters, Sabrea (Courtney) and Krista (Ronny); four grandchildren, Denika, Corson, Micah and Caden, his mother-in-law Mme Dubois; his six siblings, Gisèle, Suzanne (Todd), Diane (John), Henry (Jackie), Murielle (Guy), Lucille (Brian); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Norm grew up in Winnipeg and worked at Dakota Bakery for several years. In his early 20s, he moved to Calgary where he met Gisele and had their first daughter, Sabrea. A year later, they moved to Mabel Lake in Lumby, BC and he built their dream home. Krista Kay was born and they made many lifelong friends. Norm was an accomplished builder, carpenter and handyman. He taught Sabrea and Krista how to work at the construction sites and how to use the tools...great memories. He loved talking about his kids and grandkids, his pride and joy. He loved golfing and enjoyed going to Thailand. He did renovations (some major) to the fire station, museum and hair salon in Lumby. He built numerous homes, additions, decks, etc. No job was too big or small for Norm. "Good clean living" and "No problem" he often said. His reputation "to do it right" earned him respect and a demand for his expertise. One of his biggest challenges was building a home on top of a mountain with an elevator inside.
Those who met Norm will always remember him for his warm and welcoming personality, his sense of humour, hardworking ethics and his "joie de vivre". We will always love you "Normy".
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lacombe Hospital, Norm's friends who were there for him, Gisele Dubois and their daughters who took such good care of him.
Plans are to have a memorial service in Lumby, in early spring.
