JOHN CHRISTIAN CRUICKSHANK
November 13, 1953 - January 18, 2021
He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Lonni; their two children, Kristina (Evan), Catherine (Chris); and his three beloved grandchildren, Anna, Henry, Sam and one grandchild due in April. His family was everything to him.
John was born in Thunder Bay, ON to Alexander Cruickshank and Isabella Taylor (nee Goodman). He is also survived by his two sisters, Sandra Cruickshank and Isabel Anderson.
John worked for 45 years as an electrician, finishing his career as a contract administrator at SMS Engineering.
John loved anything to do with woodworking. He was an avid carver and furniture maker, with his many projects proudly on display. His passion for home building and kitchen cabinetry led him to complete his own home renovation, and the renovation of a home and kitchen for each of his daughters.
John was always first to offer help to his family and friends with any project they had. No matter how big or small, he could always be counted on to help.
John and Lonni loved to travel together, taking their family on many vacations and adventures. They also went on several cruises with their best friends, Brian and Debbie. In their retirement, John and Lonni enjoyed spending time at their home in Arizona.
John was the most caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Special thanks to our dear friends, Brian and Debbie, our neighbours, and everyone who has reached out with kind words during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Due to Covid restrictions a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
