JOHN FRANK HAASBEEK

John Frank Haasbeek, 85, of Montgomery, Texas passed away peacefully January 19, 2021, in Conroe, Texas.
Frank was born on February 8, 1935 in Ijmuiden, Holland. Having survived the German occupation of Holland during the Second World War, Frank immigrated with his family to Winnipeg, Canada in 1951 where he completed high school and earned a certificate of Chartered Accountancy from the University of Manitoba. There he met Flora Isabelle Llewellyn and they married in June of 1957. Frank and Isabelle promptly moved to Paris, France where their first daughter, Michelle, was born. This began a financial career that took them to Bournemouth, England (where daughter Gillian was born), Johannesburg, South Africa (where son John was born), Toronto, Canada (where daughter Nicole was born), Sydney, Australia, the Commonwealth of Jersey, Channel Islands, London, England, Houston, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, and finally to the wonderful community of April Sound outside Montgomery, Texas.
Frank is survived by his wife Flora Isabelle, children, Michelle, Gillian, John and Nicole, grandchildren, Stephen, Stacey, Lauren, John, Amelia, Camille, Evan and Gracie, great-grandchildren, Gionni, Liana, Liliana, Penny, Addison, Bradley, and one more on the way, brothers, Hank, Jack and Gary, and sisters, Wilhelmina and Johanna.
Frank enjoyed many pursuits in life including wildlife safaris, travel and cruises, and would regale his friends and family with stories of his adventures in all corners of the world. He attacked life with vigor, completing the Houston MS-150 bicycle ride and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro on his 50th birthday. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Cashner Funeral Home (801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303) at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. The celebration will be live streamed via Facebook also. You can find the link on the Cashner Funeral Home website, or go directly to their Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an Alzheimer's charity or organization.
