GERALDINE ANNE GLASS
November 2, 1929 - January 19, 2021

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Geraldine (Gerry) Glass on January 19, 2021, at the age of 91.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Eric (Cindy), Bob (Trish) and Steve (Dawn); grandchildren, Jenna (Dave), Kyle (Melainee) and Troy (Jade); and great-grandchildren, Oakley and Emory, sister Joan, brother Bill (Diane), as well as a niece and many nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Laverne (Vern); parents, Bev and Rose Conroy; grandson Christopher (Chris), and brother-in-law Bill Pierson.
The family would also like to recognize the wonderful 50 plus year long friendship Gerry cherished and shared with Mavis Cherepak.
Gerry was born on November 2, 1929 in Virden, Manitoba. She was the first-born child of Bev and Rose Conroy. Gerry went to school in Virden until she left for Brandon to attend Nursing College. She was a natural caregiver; therefore, this profession suited her perfectly. She began her career working in small rural hospitals until she met and married Vern. They originally settled in Reston, MB but eventually moved to Winnipeg. This is where Gerry continued her career working as an RN in a personal care home.
Although Gerry loved her work and excelled at it, her priority was always family! She loved her children with abundance and supported them in everything they did. She loved her grandchildren and had special and unique bonds with each of them. Following this, she loved to watch her great-grandchildren play and enjoyed watching many videos of them. Gerry loved to bake! We all enjoyed the fruits of her labour with her many cookies, tarts, cakes, and most importantly her famous chocolate cupcakes! She was also a wonderful cook and hosted many family dinners and celebrations. She would sit over a cup of tea and chat with anyone who popped by for a visit and she had a warm way of always making them feel very special.
Gerry lived her life by appreciating the little things. It brought her joy to watch animals and birds, read a book and work on crosswords. She was humble and simply grateful for anything that she had. The only thing she wanted was to see her family and those she loved happy, healthy and safe.
We would like to thank the staff at The Wellington for the care and compassion they offered Mom the past three years. As well, thank you to the Grace Hospital, Riverview Health Centre and Grace Hospice for the care and support they provided to Mom in her last few weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice or an animal rescue or shelter of your choice.
