CONNIE HENDERSON
June 18, 1964 - January 11, 2021
Connie is survived by her husband of 27 years, Blaine; and her children, Derek (Jenna), Brett (Victoria), Blake (Shelby); her grandchildren, Madeline, Amelia, Natalie; her mother Florence Coss; and her siblings, Greg, Randy and Joanne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Connie was born and raised in Winnipeg and, as a child, she spent summers in Big Whiteshell at her grandparent's lodge, DeCaigny's Motel (Whiteshell Lake Resort). She was a graduate of Pierre Radisson Collegiate in 1982. Connie knew early in adult life what was important to her; she dedicated herself to her family. She was focused on the success of Blaine and her three boys and she was always successful at anything she put her mind to.
Connie lived life on her own terms with a truly genuine, passionate and inviting spirit that naturally drew people to her. She made everlasting friendships with those she touched - school friends, neighborhood friends, her lake family, her dear friends in Las Vegas and many more.
Connie lived an active life, always on the go. She loved being outside in warm weather, cruising with the top down on a sunny day, being on the water, cycling, hiking, golfing, exercising, traveling, snowmobiling, snowboarding and playing word games. Connie loved to do it all and be in the middle of the action, which led to a passion for hockey and baseball later in life. She loved the energy of the crowds and all the "people watching" that went with it. She loved people and it showed in the many cherished friendships that naturally came from that love.
There is absolutely no doubt that Connie left her signature impression on everyone she touched in this world. Connie's love and dedication to her family, her contagious laugh, spirit, generosity, fierce loyalty and love for life will always and forever keep her alive in our hearts.
A service for Connie will be held as Covid regulations allow.
Donations in Connie's honor can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada (Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy) a cause that was personal to her (muscle.ca). In her memory, take the time to be kind, reach out to friends and family with passion and love. That was her way.

My most sincere condolences to Connie's family. Although I haven't seen her or been in contact with her for many years, I do distinctly remember how she was always smiling and laughing and so very friendly. My parents were close friends with her parents and her Mom was such a dear friend to my Mom and Dad, namely my Mom. I was very saddened to hear of the sudden loss and wanted to say a few words to the family. My Mom who is now 94 years of age also sends her most sincere condolences to the family. RIP Connie and big hugs to Flo for the loss of her baby girl. Take care - Posted by: Jackie (My parents were very good friends with her parents growing up. To Connie’s family, my deepest sympathy to you all, Connie was one of my first friends back at Superstore on St. Anne’s Rd which was 38 years ago. We had great times together & she introduced me to a young man which is now my husband of 36 yrs. It’s been along time that I’ve last seen her, but I would always know it was her with her genuine smile ! Rest Connie , - Posted by: Brenda Heselwood (Old work friend) on: Feb 02, 2021

I met Connie when she accepted my request to play a quick game of Words with friends. We started messaging and I quickly learned how much she loved her family, her friends, her trips to Vegas and her Jays. She was very cordial and funny and friended me during a low part of my life. She made me laugh as we talked about our life experiences. She was always talking about her love for Blaine and the kids. I will miss our talks and getting my butt kicked in almost every game of words with friends we played....I am fortunate to have known her, if only in chat and Facebook. My condolences to her friends and family who knew her in person. I know you all have a special Angel looking over you. - Posted by: Tim Parsons (Word Game Friend ) on: Jan 31, 2021

Connie was truly an amazing woman. We first met her at the hiking club and knew she was special. My wife and children adored her as we got to know her more and more. She was always fun and full of energy and we will always remember that about her. We will miss her but we know she is with the Lord. Blessings to your family and to you Blaine. So sorry to hear of your loss Flo, Blaine and family. I knew Connie in high school when I was going out with her brother. She was a very spritited young lady with an infectious laugh then and obviously carried that throughout her life. Fabulous traits to have. Hold those memories in your hearts. I last saw Connie at our 10 year highschool reunion and she hadn't changed one bit. In fact she looks the same in her photo as she did in high school. Loss is difficult. I hope it helps to know that others around the globe are sending you loving support. - Posted by: Sharon Baylak (friend) on: Jan 27, 2021

Condolences to all the Hendersons. Connie and Blaine were people we met at carshow and ever since great friends and down to earth people. Connie and Blaine were some of the most loving couples we had ever met. Connie always had a big huge smile and a contagoius laugh thst Nancy and her had many. We shared mNy a great time with Connie and Blaine from going to parties at the Sema show in Vegas to enjoying a fun game of Farcle at the lake which Connie was a pro at. We are so much better for knowing Connie experiencing so many good times. But Blaine was her rock, her kids and grandkids meant so much to her and she loved Prestly her dog. We will always cherrish our memories with our good friend and wish her peace and love in heaven where I know she will be watching over everyone until the day we sll unite.
