Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON PAUL SENEBALD
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Gordon Senebald, longtime resident of the Weston neighbourhood, in Winnipeg, MB. Age 74 years young.
He is survived by his loving wife June, son Jason Senebald, stepson Blaine Triskle and wife Lisa, brother Raymond Senebald and sister Betty-Ann Boddy; grandchildren, Marlie (Lulu) and Alistair (Big Al) Triskle; as well as by nephews, James Senebald and Paul Boddy. Gord was predeceased by his mother and father, Maria and Edward; his sister-in-law Georgina and nephew Clint.
Gord was a member of The Royal Canadian Navy from 1965 to 1970 when he decided to retire and join civvy ranks. He reached the rank of Leading Seaman several times which prompted him to put his "Hook on with Velcro". He said you Navy guys would understand.
After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy (he served five years), he spent his time until retirement driving semi-trailers for numerous trucking companies, most notably CP Express and Transport and Paramount Trucking. Gord was also a longtime member of Brooklands/Weston Legion #2, serving on the Executive in various jobs and up until a few years ago a member of ANAF #1.
He left us to soon, but now he is with his first love, Penny (Gord's dog). May you both have fun chasing gophers in Heaven. She's been waiting for you.
As per Gord's request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to Covid.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Dog Pound or the Salvation Army.
SAILOR'S REST
When my sailing days are over, and I sail
the seas no more, I shall build myself a
refuge, by the ocean's murmuring shore.
As I watch the foaming breakers, when
the tide come rushing in, I will contemplate
my lifetime, with its virtues and its sins.
Where the azure of the heavens meets the
undulating blue. Where the sweeping, soaring
seagull flies its endless quest for food.
It is there I would rest, when my work
on earth is done. At the endless blue
horizon, 'neath the crimson setting sun.

Worked with Gord at CP Express, always enjoyed our time together, he was incredibly knowledgable and wise (in those days we were young!!) way beyond his years. Told me a story about being in military lockup one time that sticks with me to this day...was nice seeing him out of work too, the odd time in the Legion and sometimes at Sobeys...RIP good Sir. Godspeed. - Posted by: Dave Giesbrecht (CPET) on: Oct 27, 2021

June, Ray and families, sincere condolences. Gord and I "met" each other in pre-school and started kindergarten together at Dufferin School around 70 years ago!!! Wow, how time flies. We hung around together throughout our youth and remained friends, keeping in touch over the years even though we didn't see each that often, living in other provinces. In recent years, Gord would keep me informed of various local and world happenings with his numerous informative emails which also included many cute jokes that caused many smiles and chuckles at my end. Gord was a good person, period!!! He will be greatly missed. Sincerely, Jim - Posted by: Jim Chester ("old" friend) on: Jan 31, 2021
