GARRY ROBERT MARKWICK
Born in Brandon MB
December 21, 1955 - January 25, 2021
He is survived by his mother Ella; sisters, Margaret (Bill) and Gerry (Jim); brothers, Chris (Lucy) and Ron (Brenda); his wife Debbie; his children, Deena (Dave), Brian (Ashley), Heather (Bradley) and Leslie; and his six grandchildren.
Garry always had an extreme passion for life, and fought hard until the very end. He defied the odds every chance he had and did the impossible every time.
He loved his family, cars, and making people laugh, cracking jokes even in his final days. He will be remembered as the superman he truly was.
A deeply heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lipschitz and the nursing staff at the Health Sciences Centre SICU for their wonderful care and compassion.
Cremation will take place at Winnipeg Cremation Services with a Celebration of Life in the spring for family and friends to attend.

Grandpa was one of the funniest/goofiest people I had had in my life as a kid. I'll always be grateful for him and grandma for taking care of my mom, brother and I when we needed it, and I hope they're resting well with mama wherever they are. Love them loads, love the rest of the family as well. Sadie - Posted by: Sadie Heinzelmann (Granddaughter) on: Aug 24, 2025

Garry was without a doubt one of the finest brothers, son, father, grandpa, husband and friend. Always there to help his mom, taking time for lunch with her, running errands and taking her to appointments. Always helping his kids, sisters, brothers and friends with a smile. How he absolutely adored his wife, their children and their grandkids. He was my hero. I will end this as he ended his phone calls, not with "goodbye" but with his infamous "hello". You are loved and missed. Rest now in peace knowing you left your mark on this earth. - Posted by: Gerry Henderson (Sister) on: Jan 30, 2021
