DONALD (DON) MACDONALD

On Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg, MB, Don passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Nancy; his son Jamie; daughter Marcie (Cory) and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Olivia, all of Winnipeg.
Don was born in Regina on November 19, 1939, leading to a life-long love of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Don was an avid golfer, who was very proud to claim four holes in one, and belonged to a number of different golf courses over the years, where he worked on perfecting his game.
Don started his career in finance before transitioning into a 30 plus year career at the Federal Government, performing a multiple of roles across a variety of departments. Don finished his career as an EAP counsellor, retiring in 2000.
Though Don's last few years saw him struggle with dementia, he never lost his love of family or his indomitable spirit. A special thanks to the staff at Vista Park Lodge for the care and support they provided over Don's last months.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice.
