EDWARD PETRACHEK
July 8, 1948 - January 26, 2021
He leaves to mourn his wife Diane of 48 years, son Anthony (Jen), daughter Alisa (Sean), and grandchildren; brothers, David (Anne), Ray (Deb), Rick (Marianne); brothers-in-law, Alex (Joan), Gerald (Dianne); sisters-in-law, Sharon and Colleen; with many nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Polly and Steve Petrachek; in-laws, Alex and Winnie Fotty; brothers-in-law, Ross Smith and Pierre Vanasse.
Ed took early retirement in 2008 and shifted focus from a flooring installer to enjoying his yard, gardening, cooking, listening to Ukrainian music and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family.
We wish to thank the Paramedics and Stonewall Hospital for their care and compassion on these last two days for Ed, as he is now free of pain.
Cremation has taken place, and as per Ed's wishes, we will celebrate Ed's life privately in Shorncliffe, where Ed was born and raised in his early years.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation of your choice in his memory.

Our condolences to Eddie's family and all of the Petrachek families. Ed was a hard working flooring installer and was so proud of his family. He loved visiting the rural area where he grew up. Rest in peace Ed. - Posted by: Lloyd & Jeannette Roche (Friends) on: Jan 30, 2021

Diane, our thoughts & prayers are with you in this difficult time. We have many fond memories of Ed, back to when I worked with him installing flooring, to when we would stop by for a drink, he was always so proud to show us his garden and all his vegetables. He was a hell of a great guy! - Posted by: Kelly & Cindy Klassen (Friends) on: Jan 30, 2021
