ALICE JUNE ERICKSON
June 3, 1937 - January 25, 2021
Alice will be deeply missed by her husband of 61 years, Johann; children, Michael and Leslie; grandchildren, Alicia Misura (Chad), Casey Tully (Scott), Kristofer Erickson (Brittany), Callie Erickson (Jesse), Alicia Ballantyne (James), Haley Price (Ben), Nicholas Bennett, Dylan Bennett (Cindy), Travis Bennett (Taylor); 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marilyn Eirickson; nieces and nephews and many good friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Vida; sisters, Doreen and Edith; and brother Frank.
Alice was born and raised on a farm west of Lundar. When Mom and Dad got married they moved to Winnipeg, but she was always a small town girl at heart. She often shared fond memories of growing up on the farm and her love of horses.
Mom was a kind, gentle soul with simple needs, but her greatest pleasures were being with her husband Joe and family. Alice was a homemaker and employed by Revenue Canada. She was a wonderful seamstress, making quilts and clothing and enjoyed many crafting activities.
She suffered with arthritis for most of her life but never let it keep her down or dampen her spirit. She was the toughest person I know. Once dad retired, they enjoyed their time together and with family, spending summers at the cabin at Lundar Beach and visiting with friends. Alice was loved by all who knew her. She was so very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved them all dearly.
We would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for caring for mom these past 10 weeks.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no formal funeral service. Family interment and a celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society, Manitoba Division, 1465 Buffalo Place, Suite 100A, Winnipeg, MB R3T 1LB.
Rest easy Mom, Amma. We Love you.
Goda nott, Elskan.
