GILBERT THEODORE PALSSON
February 6, 1946 - January 28, 2021
Gilbert was born February 6, 1946 in Winnipeg to the late Leifur and Thelma Palsson of Riverton, Manitoba. Left to mourn his loss: sisters, Vivan (Art) Goodman and family, Doreen and Ken McDonald and family; brother Thor and Ruth Palsson and family; his beloved pup Wooley; as well as many close friends that he considered family, Lindy, Shirlene, Kimberley, Sandy, Margaret, Phil and Wanda.
Gilbert was a quiet, unique, free spirit. He came and went as he pleased often sneaking out without notice after dinner was done. He was a mentor to many and friendly to all. After graduating highschool, Gil got his ticket in Carpentry and worked all over Western Canada, he was a jack of all trades, and a master of many... He finally settled in Calgary, Alberta in the late 1970s early 1980s. Calgary is where he made his home, and proudly started up his own company, Dynacrete Supply, that he successfully owned and operated for 20 years. Gil was always on the go, often visiting family and friends all over Canada. He especially loved (Islendingadagurinn) Icelandic Festival in Gimli, MB, and made his way back many years to partake in events and visit family and friends. Recently he also enjoyed spending holidays with his nephew Mark Palsson and family in BC. You could often find Gil eating lunch at his many favourite restaurants, visiting with friends, and getting Timmies coffee and Lotto Tickets with Wooley. He will be missed for his humble, quiet, calm demeanour.
A private viewing has already taken place and a memorial service will be held in Riverton, Manitoba when safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Rett Syndrome Society or Association.
