Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Carl had many good qualities. He was a gentleman who was polite, had a sense of humor, was tactful and could always be counted on in the performance of his duties at VAC. Underlying his interest in politics was his desire to see honesty, consideration and care in those politicians we had invested our trust in. This reflected his sense of justice and fairness. Carl was sensitive and would talk and listen with respect that conveyed an envelope of friendliness, modesty and humility. In short, he was a humane person who extended self worth and dignity to others. He will be missed for the kind person he was. To his family and relatives, thank you for sharing his life with us. - Posted by: Douglas Culliford (Friend and coworker) on: Feb 12, 2021

  • I am so saddened to hear of Carl's passing. I worked with Carl for many years at Veterans Affairs in the Finance unit. I remember him as a very caring, friendly, selfless, unassuming, gentle man with a ready smile for everyone. His work ethic was second to none. He truly cared about the VAC clients and went out of his way to assist them in any way he could. It was also evident how much he loved his sisters. Family seemed very important to him. One of my favourite amusing memories of him is his daily weather forecasts. Each morning he would give a detailed analysis of what we could expect that day and the following week. The political climate was something else he was passionate about and would often offer his opinion on. It was truly a pleasure to have known Carl. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Kathy Swanston (Co-worker, admirer ) on: Feb 06, 2021
