EVELYN MOIRA HERR
March 21, 1957 - January 29, 2021
"A Beautiful Person"

Peacefully, at home and under her terms, Evelyn passed into the arms of God and reunited with her angels, predeceased daughters, Carolyn Marie Herr and Sandra Marjorie Herr.
Evelyn is survived by husband Greg, daughter Jennifer, grandson Jaxton ('My Sweet'), sisters, Joyce (Randy), Heather (Wayne) and Marj (Ray), brothers, Chris (Brigit), Bob (Brenda) and George (Alison), brothers-in-law, Trev (Cathy), Brad (Yvonne), and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was born in England and immigrated with her family to Winnipeg at an early age. Her education led to being a dental assistant to Dr. A. Wong for many years. She met her husband Greg in December 1975 and married in December 1980. In 1983 they moved to Manitouwadge, Ontario to establish their drug store, Manitouwadge Pharmacy. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters. In 2013 they moved to Cobourg, ON and began retirement.
Evelyn will be missed by all who knew her. Her qualities of honesty, kindness, and compassion made her a good friend to many. She was a great listener and good counsel to daughter Jennifer. She loved spending time with her grandson, Jaxton, making his favourite foods, sharing a laugh and learning the computer with him. Ev was also nicknamed by some as "Bev", she loved having a good time with family and friends! Her knitting skills will be remembered through the dish cloths she was constantly making - adjusting the colours to the season. She had a close bond with her three sisters. Evelyn loved shopping, both for herself and family and had a keen eye for bargains. Ev loved to travel. She was a snowbird who loved to winter in the tropics and met many new friends while staying at the Waikiki Banyan. Evelyn so looked forward each year to this winter break in Hawaii. She will be missed but never forgotten !
In lieu of flowers, Evelyn would have preferred a donation to a local food bank.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Aloha Evelyn, until we meet again.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Kurt messaged me about your beautiful wife! I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that with time and support of the love of family and friends, you will find peace and some comfort in special memories. - Posted by: Marnie (old friend) on: Feb 07, 2021

  • Al and I want to express our sincere condolences to Evelyn’s family. We are so sorry for your loss and understand how much she will be missed. I first met Evelyn in Dr. Wong’s office and found out she was Bob Kay’s (our neighbor) sister. At social gatherings when I talked to Evelyn about the dentist’s speed, she laughed so heartily and said “he uses the drill like he drives his car - fast”. I’ve always remembered her sense of humour and how sweet she was. Evelyn is now free from pain and suffering and may she Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Bette (Friend of family) on: Feb 07, 2021
