CONSUELO ALBERTO MENDOZA
November 4, 1941
- February 6, 2021

After a long battle with pancreatic cancer, Consuelo died peacefully with her family by her side at the Grace Hospice, at the age of 79. Born in Catanduanes, Philippines, Consuelo will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Amado Mendoza Sr.; her sisters, Evelyn (Rodolfo Padua), Felilia (Andres Ticzon), and Victorina (Conrado Tualla); and her sisters-in-law, Carmen and Exaltacion Alberto. She leaves a legacy of six children: Amado (Josefina), Consuelo (Raymond Benson), Imelda (Noel Fagan), Marcelino, Monica (Walter Carranza), and Monaliza (Rommel Vianzon); and eight grandchildren: Deril, Dannyel, Danielle, Logan, Omar, Keaira, Kaylah and Jaime; as well as many nephews, nieces and extended family members.
Amado and Consuelo immigrated to Canada with their six children in 1977, in hopes of creating better opportunities for their family. While being a devoted mother and wife, Consuelo worked as an accountant at Fort Ignition, loved spending time caring for her eight grandchildren, and gave a life of service to numerous church and community organizations. Consuelo enjoyed travelling around the world, singing, dancing, being a gracious hostess, and playing mahjong and cards with her sisters.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, CancerCare Manitoba, as well as all the health care providers, home care workers, palliative team, Riverview Palliative Centre and Grace Hospice, who treated our mom like family.
Due to COVID restrictions, all prayers, viewing, funeral and entombment attendance will be by private invitation only. Livestreaming from Mosaic Funeral Services, on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m., https:// event.forgetmenotceremonies.com/.
