Pastor Howard Leveque was the pillar of Little Grand Rapids First Nation located in a remote and isolated community. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, church congregation and his community. Howard was a kind man and very humorous, he always put others before himself. He was respected by all the people that knew him. He was a true leader and will be missed. Howard enjoyed travelling for the Lord and would go out to see his family and friends. He travelled abroad to Israel (twice), Turkey, Jordan and Greece. He mentioned that he would never walk in the Jordan desert with cowboy boots ever again. He loved to minister in Word and in song and often shared his testimony of how he went to Heaven and saw his beautiful mansion that was prepared for him. In the mornings, before breakfast, he would do his devotions reading his Bible. In the summer months, he would go out in the lake by boat with family and friends to fish and have lunch at the shore. He enjoyed the outdoors. Before the stroke Howard was a Band Councillor, trapper, hunter, and fishermen, he still remained a fisher of men.
Ten years ago, when dad had the stroke, he had a heavenly experience, he said that, Jesus told him it wasn't time to come home and to tell the people to get ready for his return. Dad worked diligently in the ministry; his disability never set him back but rather he laboured for lost souls. His heart was for people to know Jesus as their personal Saviour. He often quoted 2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;" Get ready! Jesus is coming!
Due to restrictions, a private service was held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Eternal Grace Funeral Home on 1111 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. A wake service was held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Little Grand Rapids and a funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Little Grand Rapids House of Prayer.
