MADELINE LOUISE TALLING
Mom was predeceased by her husband Jim, parents, Frank and Betty, and sister Betty.
She will forever be remembered and greatly missed by her sons, Garry (Joan), Bruce (Mona), her grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Catellier, Kim (Ryan) Orlesky, Brian (Allison), Scott, Brent (Tatum), great-grandchildren, Alannah, Gavin, Violet Catellier, Luca, Danica Orlesky, Ainsley Gembus, brother-in-law Wally (Sheila), nephews, Trent and Darrin.
Mom was born in Winnipeg and raised in West Kildonan. She was a stay at home mom when the boys were younger, and as they got older she worked part time.
When Dad retired from Air Canada they travelled to the West Coast to visit family and friends in Vancouver and Vancouver Island. They also went on southern winter vacations, enjoying the company of family and friends. Many fond stories and memories were shared upon return.
Mom jumped at the opportunity to attend her sons and grandchildrens sports and activities. She loved baking with the grandchildren and Sunday dinners with her family. Mom enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and during Covid she found ways to communicate with them virtually. Mom looked forward to going on car rides to Selkirk, Birds Hill Park, Lockport, and Papa's park.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the friendly and caring staff at Kildonan House, home care, and Concordia Hospital.
Garry and Bruce would especially like to thank Dr. Mark Barker for his years of caring for Mom to help make her life as comfortable as possible.
We are consoled knowing that Mom has now been reunited in Heaven with Dad, who she missed so dearly all these years.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration in Mom's honour will be held at a future date once the Covid restrictions are relaxed.

Condolences & Memories (14 entries)
Gary, Bruce & families, We are so sorry for the loss of your Mom. We remember fondly having tea with Madeline and Jim and also visiting uncle Frank & auntie Betty. May the happy memories help you at this time. Love Heather, Bill and family - Posted by: Heather & Bill Jory (Cousin) on: Feb 23, 2021
I played hockey with Garry when we were kids and although I have not seen him in decades I thought it appropriate to send my condolences to him and his brother Bruce on the passing of their Mother. Mr. and Mrs. Talling were two of the nicest parents I have ever known. When I didn't have a ride to games or practices, there were numerous occasions when they went out of their way to provide that ride so I could attend those games and practices. Their kindness has never left me, they were both truly wonderful people. I am so sorry for your loss, may the memories you of your Mom be a blessing and may she rest in peace. - Posted by: Gary Prost (friend) on: Feb 22, 2021

Hello Garry & Bruce The Bos & Lankhout family would like to offer our condolences to you both and all family. We are most fortunate to have lived are lives amongst such good neighbours to our Oma on the great Kilbride Ave. Your Mom & Dad were such good people and still think of your late father as well.....just great stewards of the community. As you know I was able to see your Mom on occasion at the living centre, and she always greeted me with such pride and she was always in such good spirits. Take care, and all the best to a life well lived and respected Ron Lankhout - Posted by: RON LANKHOUT (FRIEND OF FAMILY) on: Feb 20, 2021

Madeline was a very special lady who I have thought of for years. I remember laughing with her when she needed to be seen by a doctor during a snow storm. She told everyone she was responsible for having their street plowed! Rest In Peace 💕 - Posted by: Louise Raber (Nurse and Friend) on: Feb 20, 2021
