Chris is lovingly remembered by Janice, his wife of 47 years, his three children, Rebecca (Warren), Kent (Dana), and Kevin (Catherine), and his three grandchildren that he adored, Olivia, Luke, and Owen, as well as his brother Con (Geny). Chris was predeceased by his parents, Allan and May Sandh, and his sister Ann-Margret Persson.
Chris was born in Sweden and immigrated to Canada at the age of nine. He went to Gordon Bell High School, where he excelled in track and field, competing in provincial, national and international contests. Chris had a life-long love of sports, as he was also an avid curler and enjoyed watching hockey.
Graduating from Red River College in 1972, Chris went on to work for the Provincial Government for 38 years until he retired. He and his wife Janice raised their children in St. Vital, where they lived for more than 40 years.
Chris enjoyed the outdoors, in particular the family cottage in Northwestern Ontario. He had a good sense of humour and appreciated the arts.
Chris passed away in the presence of family, his last days filled with love and compassion.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Kin Place Personal Care Home, as well as the staff in the Medicine 1 Unit at the Selkirk Regional Health Complex.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada or Diabetes Canada.
Family and friends are invited to leave condolences and share memories by visiting Chris's memorial page at seasonsfunerals.

Janice, we were so sorry to hear about your loss. During the short time that we knew Chris we quickly realized his passion for sports with many back yard discussions about the Jets! Chris and Janice also came to watch many of Devon's high school hockey games, which really meant alot to us. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. I remember Chris for walking by and stopping to say hello and a chat to catch up at the lake! They grew to visits to each other's cottage as well as joining us at the Annual BBQ I had at the beginning! As the years past and health issues ensued it was hard to catch up with them! But I thought of you and Janice always! My deepest sympathies to you Janice and your family of your loss!
