JO ANN PATRICIA ISAACS
She is predeceased by her father Alphonse Joseph Pierson and by her mother Zelia Rebecca Paquin. She is survived by her loving husband Les, her son Matthew, her brother Garry Pierson and friend of 47 years Diane Henkel. Jo Ann was born in Winnipeg on December 1, 1952. She was employed over the years at the Eaton's Catalogue Department, Chemcrest Moldings, Spectus Moldings and finally with Eastside Ventilation.
Jo Ann wanted a child and in her 40s, had her healthy miracle son, Matthew, in 1996. She was a stay at home Mom during Matthew's early years and was an active volunteer at Joseph Teres School, enjoying helping the children. During Matthew's school years, Jo Ann attended many events, concerts, and sport activities.
Jo Ann always ensured that major events such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter were observed where family and guests were well fed and wined. Because family was important, when her parents died, she became the family contact/advocate for her special needs brother, Garry, who is a ward of the province. She ensured Garry was a part of our lives, attending these major events.
Jo Ann enjoyed travelling where camping meant a 4/5 star hotel. She especially loved Hawaii and in particular, Maui. Her last trip was touring the Atlantic provinces including by train from Winnipeg to Halifax, visiting family and friends along the way.
Jo Ann enjoyed helping others and was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #7, Transcona. She will be deeply missed by her family and close friends.
In accordance with Jo Ann's wishes, there will be no formal service. A private interment will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jo Ann to the Cancercare Manitoba.
