SHAWNA LEE DECOSTE
(MORRISSETTE)
November 24, 1958 – February 22, 2021

With deep love and great sadness in our hearts we wish to acknowledge the passing of Shawna Lee (Shawn) DeCoste at the age of 62. Shawn left this earthly existence to travel to the spirit world on Monday after heroically persevering through many struggles with her health over the last many years. It is some consolation for her family that Shawn has always held her deep love for her late partner Joe DeCoste close to her heart. We can all take some small comfort in the reunification of her spirit with Joe's, as well as with the spirits of all her ancestors.
Shawn was a loving mother, auntie, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will forever live in the hearts and minds of: son Michael and grandchildren, Lance, Shaylynn and Lyndi; daughter Lynda (partner Louis Garneau) and grandchildren, Taneesha, Michael and Max; son Chris McKay (partner Colleen Peebles) and grandchildren, Brandy, Curtis and Crystal, as well as great-grandchildren.
Shawn was predeceased by her husband Joseph (Joe) DeCoste, father Robert James Morrissette, mother Rose Marie Morrissette (Richard), brother Clarke, sister Linda, sister Debbie and brother Larry. Shawn leaves behind: her sister Veronica (partner Mickey), her brother Vern (partner Rhonda), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shawn's quick wit, sense of humour, intelligence, presence and kind spirit will eternally remain in our memories.
No services, cremation at Connelly McKinley Funeral Home, Edmonton, AB, phone 780-458-2222.

  • While I didn’t know Shawna very well, she must have very special as I knew her brothers Larry and Vern. Her journey is being carried with the ancestors and all who shared her life. - Posted by: Valerie Unwin (Friend of Vern and Rhonda) on: Feb 26, 2021
