ALICE WOODS
(nee SIMM)
January 28, 1930 - February 14, 2021
Alice enjoyed playing softball and later became involved in curling. She was also involved in the Eastern Star.
She met and married Barry on March 30, 1952. They lived in Emerson and Killarney, Manitoba, Swift Current, Saskatchewan and settled in Winnipeg. Alice was a stay at home mom who could out-bake even the best. She enjoyed knitting, reading, socializing and enjoyed a good party. She had the occasional job in department stores and drug stores in Winnipeg when the kids were older.
Alice and Barry moved to Squamish, BC in 2009 to live with their daughter Debbie and son-in-law Hal. Alice lived the last five years at Hilltop House Care Home in Squamish where she passed peacefully.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Barry. She will be missed by her son Randy Woods (Bo); granddaughters, Monica (Pete) and great-grandson Finn, Angela (Mat) and great-granddaughter Hayley; daughter Debbie Hughson (Hal), grandson Anthony (Alisha), great-granddaughter Destiny and great-grandson Robert, granddaughter Rebecca (Randy), great-granddaughters, Eva and Sara.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Hilltop in Squamish, BC and Dr. Miller for their passionate care. Alice struggled with mental illness most of her life and is at peace now.
