VACLAV (JIM) HLADIK
Left behind is his grieving family - his wife of 52 years, Marcela, three sons, Victor (Gail), Mark (Andrea) and David, seven grandchildren, his sister Bibi and nephew Jakub; plus many relatives overseas.
Vaclav was born in September 1947 in Czech Republic. He and Marcela arrived to Winnipeg in October 1968 and eventually bought a house in Fort Richmond where they lived for 36 years. Vaclav was a surveyor by training and his first big job was on the construction of the hydro dam in Jenpeg, MB. Later on his skills and experience took him to many other large construction projects across Canada and few across the world.
He always cared deeply about his family and their well being. He enjoyed watching his boys growing up, playing hockey, soccer and later on starting their own careers and families. Vaclav will be missed and fondly remembered by all of us.

Condolences to Marcela and family. Sorry to hear of Jim's death. I have thought of you both often wondering where you planted your roots after hydro. Life is a gift but a long marriage is indeed a blessing. - Posted by: Ellen (Hutchinson) Cook (Former Jenpeg acquaintance) on: Jul 04, 2023

I am very sorry to hear that such a beautiful soul has left this world. Jim taught me patience, to see the soul of a human and never judge them on the condition of their body. He was full of humor, kindness, strong will and so much more. You touched and changed lives Jim. His love for his wife will always remind me true love makes anything stronger. my heart goes out to you Marcela - Posted by: Amiela (companion ) on: Sep 05, 2021
