He was predeceased by his parents, John and Hazel Sexton; son Timothy Sexton; sister Denise Barbara; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Phillip was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 14, 1947. He grew up in St. Boniface and worked at the family business, Simpson's Transfer and Feed Ltd., from 1960 to become the owner in 1992 until present. Phillip was a kind hearted, loving, caring, hardworking man, working days and nights to support his family. Phillip has left a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. He enjoyed watching his son Kevin race at Red River Speedway and across the border with Tim (son) as his mechanic. Phillip and Rita loved to travel and enjoyed the sun and ocean with friends and family. Phillip was an avid boater like his father, with many friends at the boat yards. Phillip became a Mason and joined the Khartum Drums and Bugle Corps becoming president. He also liked to watch TV - Young and the Restless, Nascar, old westerns, mystery shows. Phillip enjoyed meeting his fellow friends for breakfast at the Ditch.
Our family would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and the staff at Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare, a special thank you to Dr. Miller for your care and compassion.
Rita, we are eternally grateful to have such a loving, caring woman to support and be by our father's side for many years with his health issues, we thank you.
A Celebration of Life is to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Society of Manitoba, Health Sciences Centre or the Kidney Foundation on behalf of Phillip Sexton.
