EDDIE GAWRYLUK (GARLIC)
November 15, 1947 - February 19, 2021

With deep sadness and heavy hearts we are announcing that Eddie has gained his wings and has gone to be with his family. Eddie passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 19, 2021.
Eddie was predeceased by his parents and his sister Diane in 2013. He leaves to cherish his memory forever his loving sister and sidekick Irene (Jim), his brother-in-law John, his nieces Jamie (Bruce), his niece and loving goddaughter Leann (Ed), and Sherry, his nephews, Greg (Mavis) and Glenn (Kelly).
Prior to covid, for many years Eddie's morning ritual was meeting all of his buddies at McDonald's for coffee.
Eddie's antique car was his pride and joy. He spent his time following antique car shows all summer long. His working life was spent at Burns and Maple Leaf Foods and he lived his whole life in the north end.
We're going to miss his stories and his jokes and his presence. He was always good for the soul.
Cremation has taken place. Due to covid we will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.

Eddie you may be gone from our lives
but you will live on in our hearts forever.

  • I met Eddie back in the early 70’s when we were both hired on the same day at Burns Foods. I remember Eddie as a nice guy with a good sense of humour. He was always ready with an entertaining story about somebody or something that “happened” in the “north end.” As a summer student at Burns for 5 years, I always looked forward to coming back each summer just to hear more of his stories. He never ran out. (PS: Eddie..if you’re listening up there, tell the one about the golf clubs you borrowed and then made them disappear…lol.) My condolences to the Gawryluk family. RIP my friend. - Posted by: Doug (ex-Burns Foods co-worker ) on: Feb 28, 2021
