Peacefully, on February 24, 2021, the matriarch of the Klimenko family left this world to reunite with her husband, mother, father and brothers.
Else met Alex at Kelvin High School, learning English together after immigrating from Europe in 1948. Together they owned and operated the Garwood Grill for many years.

She will be forever loved and always missed.
Until we meet again; we love you Mom,
Grandma, Granny. Rest In Peace.

  • Gordon & Ron and Family,.....Please accept my heartfelt condolences on hearing of your mom, my Aunt Else's, passing. I remember the days way back when, my mom (Valarie) and Else visiting each other, pushing the baby carriages back and forth, a number of blocks walking distance. Those visits and family times will always be cherished. May Gods comfort and peace sustain all of you at this trying time.........Love Carol M. ...your Cousin! - Posted by: Carol Miller (Relative) on: Feb 27, 2021

  • I met Gord in Jr High at Earl Grey school, and I heard lots of stories from friends hanging out at Garwood Grill. So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, Gord. These Covid separation days make it all the more difficult to deal with losses. Your mother's strength and work ethic are evident in the way she raised you- and fed the neighbourhood around Garwood Grill ! She will certainly be missed. Sending thoughts and Prayers during this difficult time. - Posted by: Don Lewis (friend of Gord from Earl Grey Jr High) on: Feb 27, 2021

  • Where I worked right out of college, at Sperry Defence Systems Division, there was an engineer by the name of Gord, a big friendly giant. I still remember the muscle car he owned, a black 1970 'Cuda. Sorry to learn of your Mom's passing Gord, condolences to you and your family. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Bradley Pisiak (worked at Sperry/Unisys/Lockheed Martin in the '80s and '90's) on: Feb 27, 2021
